All-Ireland Knowledge Exchange Project
The FRC Suicide Prevention Code of Practice Conference
A Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Exchange Event
About the Conference
The second instalment of the All-Ireland Knowledge Exchange Conference series will focus on suicide prevention and community mental health. The National Forum of Family Resource Centres (FRCNF) will share its expertise, knowledge, and leadership with the Healthy Living Centre Alliance (HLCA).
This collaborative event will explore the newly updated FRC Suicide Prevention Code of Practice and introduce the new FRC e-Learning platform, which has been developed to support its implementation across the Family Resource Centre network.
Through expert-led presentations, practical case studies, and interactive discussions, the FRCNF will showcase its innovative approaches to suicide prevention, including its work around equipping FRCs with the tools, knowledge, skills and strategies needed to address suicide risks and foster mental well-being in communities. This event will showcase the FRCNF’s leadership in guiding FRCs in implementing evidence-based, practical, effective suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention methods which help provide an effective response to those experiencing thoughts of suicide, those with a plan for suicide, those who have attempted suicide, and those affected by a suicide who engage with a Family Resource Center.
This Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Exchange Event will strengthen the partnership between the FRCNF and HLCA, facilitating deeper collaboration on mental health initiatives and suicide prevention efforts across the island of Ireland. Participants will gain valuable insights and practical skills while building a unified vision for enhancing community health outcomes.
This event underscores the FRCNF’s commitment to advancing a collective, all-island approach to suicide prevention, reinforcing the importance of shared learning and community-led solutions.
This event would not have been possible without the financial support of the Shared Island Civic Society Fund, for which the Healthy Living Centre Alliance and Family Resource Centre National Forum are very grateful.
