Through WRAP training, staff gain essential tools to empower families in developing personalized plans for managing their mental health and overall well-being. This approach fosters resilience and promotes a sense of ownership and self-advocacy among families. Additionally, WRAP training emphasises the importance of self-care for staff, equipping them with strategies to prevent burnout and maintain their well-being while supporting others. Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP®) is a person-centred, evidence-based, self-management programme for mental health, widely acclaimed nationally and internationally by health leaders. It is a highly individualised plan that helps you maintain your overall wellness. It combines specific responses and wellness tools that promote empowerment to enable you to live your best life. WRAP® also includes a plan that informs supporters on how to assist you during a crisis.
The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) was developed by people who had experienced various mental health challenges and worked hard to feel better and get on with their lives. In 1997, several dozen individuals who had experienced severe mental health challenges came together in northern Vermont for an eight-day gathering to initiate dialogue on improving their emotional and mental health.
